Agreed, video is very lame in the beginning and perhaps not great overall, but the changes in the plane, while not revolutionary, are awesome. I’d buy one.

Well, G3000 is a game changer for this airplane. I imagine those buying the TBM that wanted to consider the PC12 will now give it serious thought. Wonder what Daher's response will be?

Well I think the NGX improvments were improtant performance improvments. I have a few friends who wouldn't consider buying a SETP without a Garmin panel, and I imagine that's probably true for buyers in that space. The Honewell ACE is nice, but not a Garmin. The PC12 is not 300Kts, but close and it's much more comfy for the folks in the back, great range, comfortable with a good lav. So to me, it is a game changer.

I mean if it opened up some RNP levels then maybe there's something on the margin one could claim they were able to do now that they couldn't with the NGX. (See disclaimer below, haven't watched the video) Garmin ongoing maint is much cheaper

It would be nice to have had Crandall's thoughts regarding the Garminization. Personally, I believe that it could be less expensive in the future related to upgrades and repairs. However, all Garmin has to do is raise the price for parts and service.

If you read the reviews of the two different avionics companies there is a vast difference in user interface and service. I’m sure the Honeywell is quite capable yet has all those buttons. I was considering a PC12 but opted out because of Honeywell. I also think there is a huge incentive to buy a domestic product and keep our money home.

There have been several inflight LOC in IMC accidents. A plane with full envelope protection adds some real safety features, especially for single pilot ops that is a big deal. Much better radar (although the legacy planes can be updated to the GWX8000 with a Garmin switch) helps avoid TS penetration. Autoland is a big safety feature, especially in single pilot ops. The Medevac crash out of Reno doesn't happen in this aircraft. And probably the horrific crashes out of South Dakota that killed 14 people and 4 generations of men/boys, the crash of the coast of the Atlantic that killed 8, and the inflight breakup over Florida that wiped out a whole family. This technology is not just lipstick on a pig stuff. Suddenly I am in the market for a PC12  I liked the plane, but the avionics on the NG really are flip phone and the G3000 is iPhone. Both work, but one is a whole lot easier and fun to work with.

I sound like I’m dogging Pilatus and don’t mean to, and I think they made an amazing airplane even more awesome. I was disappointed in the hype leading up to a corny commercial. I don’t think they really know who their buyer is. If they’re reading this, your typical Pilatus buyer doesn’t have time for fluff and marketing. That video should have been 1/3rd as long and had twice the content.
